New York Jets 2010 strength of the table, Futures odds and predictions

I would argue that no team has changed more during last season than the New York Jets.

they and rookie QB Mark Sanchez were the talk of the NFL at the beginning of last season as a New York began 3-0, beating all potential playoff teams (although only one-the Pats-it made). Then Sanchez hit the wall and New York went into a downward spiral, losing six of the seven to seemingly the playoffs of ranges.

But then something clicked after Thanksgiving, again as the Jets won five of the six to sneak into the postseason. The help that week 16 opponent Indianapolis and week 17 enemy Cincinnati all their starters didn't play because their playoff spots were set? Certainly did, but then the Jets showed that they were not flukes by easy win in Cincinnati, beautiful the Chargers in San Diego and the Colts pushing in the AFC title game before, 30-17.

Sanchez was sufficient in the regular season, throwing for 2,444 yards and 12 TDs to deal with 20 opts for a rating of 63.0. he had the least attempts, supplements and passing feet below quarterbacks who at least 15 games played in 2009. Sanchez was better in the playoffs, give hope he takes a big step in 2010.

But really the 2009 jets were built on the defense and the ground game-New York led the League in total defense and Defense (thanks in large part to incomparable cornerback Darrelle Revis) also pass as in rushing offense.

And New York was hardly pat this offseason, dumping of leading rusher Shonn Greene's Thomas Jones because of attendance, as well as the versatile RB Leon Washington, that a season ends leg injury in week 7 last year ago trade. New York brought in a litany of stars: LaDainian Tomlinson, Santonio Holmes, Jason Taylor and Antonio Cromartie. However, the team has nine-time Pro Bowl offensive tackle Alan Faneca releasing, and he was a great part of the O-line are arguably the best in the NFL last season.

Many experts are pleading for the jets to reach the Super Bowl-the Sporting News, for a. This team is already generating more ink than any other team in the NFL, under the leadership of pronounced coach, Rex Ryan.

The experts offer the Jets ' "over/under" for NFL season win totals 9.5. Let's break the 2010 New York Jets schedule:

Week 1: Monday, Sep. 13, Baltimore, 7: 00 pm
Week 2: Sunday, Sep. 19, New England, 4: 15 PM
Week 3: Sunday, Sep. 26, at Miami, 8: 20 PM
Week 4: Sunday, 3 October, in Buffalo, 1: 00 PM
Week 5: Monday, 11 October, Minnesota, 8: 30 pm
Week 6: Sunday, 17 October, at Denver, 4: 05 PM
Week 7: BYE
Week 8: Sunday 31 October, Green Bay, 1: 00 PM
Week 9: Sunday, november 7, in Detroit, 1: 00 PM
Week 10: Sunday 14 november, in Cleveland, 1: 00 PM
Week 11: Sunday 21 november, Houston, 1: 00 PM
Week 12: Thursday 25 november, Cincinnati, 8: 20 PM
Week 13: Monday, 6 december, in New England, 8: 30 pm
Week 14: Sunday, 12 december, Miami, 4: 15 PM
Week 15: Sunday, 19 december, in Pittsburgh, 4: 15 PM
Week 16: Sunday, december 26, in Chicago, 1: 00 PM
Week 17: Sunday, January 2, Buffalo, 1: 00 PM

This is tied for 16th toughest planning in the NFL with a winning percentage of opponents 2009.500 (128-128).

One would expect from New York to beat of Buffalo, but the Bills gave the Jets a few problems last year and managed to split. think Brett Favre will be booed when he returns on the face of the jets for the first time since playing with them that a year? New York Then has the difficult task of playing at Denver in the thin air on a short week. my football betting system calls it 3-3 on the bye.

If the jets can beat the Packers home after the bye that they will be in good shape, because in the weeks 9-11 they play teams who missed the playoffs in 2009 and were a combined 16-32. And on Thanksgiving night the jets are faced with a team of the Panthers they swept last year (although the Jets 0-3 on the day of the Turkey all the time). Therefore it seems very likely a midseason Golf.

December is much harder if each opponent probably a playoff contender-11 days before a crucial date with the Pats is an advantage--before you close with what should a victory over a Bills team that will go far out of the playoffs and playing out the string. the new rule that all week 17 games have Division play, could not get the jets have asked for a better enemy, while the Pats and dolphins are fighting it out.

I'm not so great on the Jets as everyone else, but no doubt that they will be good. This looks like 10-6, so take the ' about '. I predicted the Pats also 10-6, so it would be tantamount to tiebreakers to win the AFC East wants (Pats are blanks at WagerWeb and Jets on + 110). I believe that the Jets Thomas Jones will be missed and that the passing game will still struggling, New York won't be making it back to the AFC title game--but get within a game.

Super Bowl XLV

Super Bowl XLV will be the 45th annual championship game and the 41st of the modern era National Football League (NFL). The game will be played on the 6th February 2011 and, as usual, will pit the champions of the NFC against the champions of the AFC.

The game will be played at the home of the Dallas Cowboys who dominated the competition in the early 1990s, winning five titles in that decade. This will be the first it has been held in the Dallas area but the third time it has been held in Texas.
Troy Aikman, a three time winner of the title with the Cowboys will assist with commentary on the game for Fox Sports who broadcast the transmission this time out.
As ever, expect a huge global television audience for the event. The game has always had a large television audience in the U.S., and it is often the most watched television program of the year with 80 to 90 million Americans tuning in to the game at some point.
Globally, that audience is thought to top 100 million making the most watched US sports event. Only the UEFA Champions League Final and World Cup in soccer can top that and not by much.
As well as making Super Bowl Sunday a de facto holiday in the US many fans also tune to see the size and scale of the entertainments on offer as much as the football itself. These include the now legendary half-time show and some of the most expensive commercial advertisements on TV.

Whoever makes it to Super Bowl XLV this time around you can be sure that sports fans across the globe will be glued to their screens for the ultimate grid iron action.

See Why Expert NFL Predictions Pick the NY Jets As the Team to Watch This Season

In the NFL, defense wins Super Bowls which is why the NY Jets are one of our top NFL picks to win the 2011 Super Bowl. The NY Jets who have the NFL's best defense which led the league in fewest points, yards, and passing yards allowed added defenses players to their rooster in the offseason that cement that claim even further.

The NFL's #1 rated defense last season led by arguably the NFL'S best shut down cornerback in Darrelle Revis added cornerback Antonio Cromartie and drafted Kyle Wilson to their secondary, a cornerback out of Boise St. Revis had 14 interceptions over the past three NFL seasons and now the Jets will make it more difficult for any team to pass against their dominate secondary with Cromartie on the other side who has had 15 interceptions himself the last 3 seasons.

This Rex Ryan influenced defense was already aggressive last year as they knew Revis could lock down any opposing team's best receiver. Now with the addition of Jason Taylor from the Miami Dolphins and a front seven lead by linemen Shaun Ellis and Kris Jenkins plus linebackers Bart Scott and David Harris, look for all out pandemonium from the Jets pass rush.

The Jets played a conservative offense last season with Rookie quarterback Mark Sanchez averaging only 148.8 passing yards per game which was second to last in the league although they had good pass protection. The Jets added another piece to their passing game adding former Pittsburgh Steeler receiver Santonio Holmes and with a year of NFL experience behind him and more time their #1 option Braylon Edwards, the Jets will open up their conservative offense that showed signs of big play potential in last year's playoff run.

The Jets may made a questionable move in their running game by releasing their leading rusher Thomas Jones who was a durable back that produced 1,402 yards. This year the Jets will turn the reins over to second year running back Shonn Greene and future hall of famer LaDainian Tomlinson from the Chargers to replace Jones. The Jets have a great offensive line so this shouldn't be much of a risk if Greene can stay healthy and with offensive coordinator Brian Schottenheimer calling the plays, this could be the final piece in the Jets winning the Super Bowl.

Postgame week 11 comments

hace 20 horas by FOXSports

Here are some quick random thoughts and observations of some of the Sunday of week eleven action:

· Well, Vince Young era can be officially over. While his rookie contract does not expire after 2011, child events today have shown once again that is not a leader. The Tennessee Titans will have to find out who will be its position as quarterback of the future sooner rather than later. Your computer will receive at least a glimpse of rookie QB Rusty Smith for the next few juegos.Smith is a major armed pin, but is actually a talent unrendered.

· I know that fans of Cincinnati Bengal are arms after loss of brutal 49-31 today to the Buffalo Bills of visitors, but the Bengals lost keys multiple defensive players in the game. However, his defense has been poorly throughout the season. It is time to copy it and start again.Simply do not have enough talent to be a defense of the WR calidad.Buffalo Steve Johnson has to be one of the most improved players in the NFL this season. He is proving once more that do not have to run a moment of great 40 yards to be a productive receiver.

·Mientras that have little chance of reaching the playoffs in the NFC, Dallas Cowboys QB Jon Kitna deserves much credit for the way they played the last two games. It has launched six touchdowns in his past two games with a turnover. (67,4% 31-46) Precision has been fantastic. If Dallas continues winning with him, has to wonder if he will continue to initiate once QB Tony Romo is on his injury.

· Some Cleveland Browns fans have been in me a bit to not give rookie QB Colt McCoy sufficient credit lately.Well, I actually have in this space the latest semanas.Mientras than Browns liquidation loss late to the Jacksonville Jaguars today, there is no debate that he should start the rest of the way. The decision that Cleveland would have to do is if he get carefully for work starting next season. With the expected passage to an offensive on the West Coast next season, McCoy would be perfect for that scheme. Staff entering the NFL draft this year evaluators most believed that McCoy would be best used in a scheme based on the calendar as the West Coast.

· As surprising as it is to believe, Jacksonville Jaguars are in first place in the AFC South. Maintain the tiebreaker over the Indianapolis Colts . Yet I don't think are as good, but have to give credit for its processing of a beginning very badly.

·Kansas City Chiefs at QB Matt Cassel really has 18 touchdown passes this season. Yes, you read correctamente.Y he is beat for more than 32 touchdowns. Although not has guaranteed left money in his contract after this season, Cassel is doing a huge statement this season to remain in the list in the future. If he continues to play well, you must obtain the sixth year pro Pro Bowl review.

· I realize that it was a brutal loss at home to Green Bay Packers Division rivals, but shooting coach Brad Childress now won't solve the problems of the equipo.En season as coaches changes rarely make a big difference. But if proprietary Zygi Wilf decides to pull the plug soon in Childress, defensive coordinator Leslie Frazier makes sense to take more.

· Once again allowed down by his anemic Defense during hard Houston Texans today 30-27 in the New York.Este Jets loss team cannot do a key stop on the defence even if they knew what was the call of the work the opposite offense. This is bad for this computer. It is a pity because crime his is fun to see.

· The bubble broke out for the Oakland Raiders ? I know that starting CB Nnamdi Asomugha (ankle) not played against host Pittsburgh Steelers, but could not do anything on both sides of the ball. It has become painfully obvious if you cannot run the ball well, will be very difficult for the Raiders to win.

·Really nobody believed that the Seattle Seahawks could win a high road game?Lucky that still in first place with a record of 5-5.Y performance by quarterback of Saints New Orleans Drew Brees showed once again why do other players around him better. It is the true test of a franchise field marshal. It is more than numbers with him.

·Aunque he is clearly a dowel better than Alex Smith, San Francisco 49ers quarterback Troy Smith actually fought from a poor performance against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers visit .The former winner of the Heisman Trophy deserves another chance since it was his first poor show.Young Buccaneers now are 4-1 on the road this season, which is almost hard to believe.Congratulations to coach Raheem Morris for rebounds after its first season lasts. He has his boys playing well in part the temporada. No key are in the NFC South.

·Mientras than Atlanta Falcons QB Matt Ryan continues to play well, give her credit line ofensiva.De Atlanta starting five deals with various issues injury last season, but the line has been healthy the temporada.Esta is one key to the development of the ofensiva.Ryan continuity was not sacked once during the victory Sunday in the road against the St. Louis Rams.Su line also did a great job last week against the Baltimore Ravens. visitor

·Fue a big scare for host New England Patriots today in his victory sobre the of the QB Indianápolis.Veterano Colts Peyton Manning had made some mistakes, but also made great work keep your PC in the New England young tarde.Secundaria game continues to take the test. do you believe that of the New York Jets head coach Rex Ryan regrets cut RB Danny Woodhead?
